Connectivity is enhanced by the balanced 1/4-inch master and booth outputs for connecting to amplifiers, equalizers, crossovers, and other outboard signal processors. Additional jacks include line-level inputs for sources such as CD players, minidisk players, DATs, and samplers; TT inputs for turntables; combo 1/4-inch/XLR mic inputs; and a record output for hooking up tape or CD recorders. DJs also have the choice of using either 1/4- or 1/8-inch stereo headphones when running the SMX-401 thanks to the dual headphone jacks. Once setup is complete, DJs can monitor the inputs via the PFL cue switches, which come complete with a cue pan control for splitting the signal within the headphones. For creative mixing, the SMX-401 also offers an effects loop with 1/4-inch send and return jacks.
The SMX-401 carries a one-year warranty on parts and labor.
